I basically never have sales, but with Sew Modern Bags promoting the addition of my shop to their platform this weekend (February 21, 2026) with a 30% off bundle sale, I thought I'd do something similar on my own as well.

Pattern #1: Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody FOOLER Bag

This is the first bag pattern that I ever released. Originally designed for my mother, I have a particular fondness for this purse, which is surprisingly versatile despite consisting of just two pockets: one angled across the front and one straight across the back. There are construction options for two different types of corners (either simple knife-edged or boxed) and either of them can be embellished with fabric accents.

Unexpectedly roomy...

The asymmetrical top flap is totally decorative; i.e., it does not cover any top opening. The idea for it being secured with a button was to enable the creation of – and the ability to change out – multiple flaps so that the bag can match the hot colour scheme of the day (hence the Hot Hues part of the name).

Pattern #2: Bodaciously Basic Bucket Bag

Sometimes you just can't beat the simplicity of a bucket bag. Made out of rectangular pieces, it's also a breeze to sew, and highly recommended for beginners. That being the case, when I decided to draw up a bucket bag pattern, I wanted it to offer something more. Not only do you have options for two types of body panels (with and without accent pieces), two types of (optional) pockets, and two types of closures (one with grommets, one without), the entire bag is designed to be completely reversible. Choose your fabrics well and you can end up with two very different looking bags in one! Oh, and the best part? Bucket bags are essentially classic and timeless.

This is a 47-page PDF, with over 125 photos to help you cruise through the project. A fabric planning page is included for you to keep track of what fabric is being used for what element.

Pattern #3: Bundled Up Bindle Bag

For an idea that came from a discount store item, this bag has proven to be quite a versatile storage option for me. Not only is it useful for what you can see above – a beach/toiletry tote with wet and dry pockets – I have even found it handy for toting and sorting puzzle pieces on the go. Make it big (for a nifty play mat for kids) or small (for storing or crafting jewelry), the choice is totally yours. The greatest versatility comes from incorporating mesh and laminate, but if you don't have them, you can still make this out of regular fabrics.

If you receive the PayPal email but do not see the PDFs from me, please CHECK YOUR SPAM folder. I cannot emphasize this enough, as – despite repeated warnings – I have had customers come back to me days later saying they have paid for something and still have not received.
