"Hot Hues" Convertible Crossbody Fooler TEST Bags

Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody Fooler Bag by eSheep Designs
My Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody Fooler Bag
A few weeks ago, I put out a call for crafters interested in testing out my Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody Fooler Bag pattern. I received many more responses that I ever thought I would get, thanks to a happy coincidence in AllFreeSewing.com featuring one of my other projects in a newsletter and thereby bringing a lot of traffic my way.

It took a bit of coordination (and I guess there will always be hiccups), but I got the pattern out to my selected testers and they have now completed the tremendous work of creating their own versions of the Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody Fooler Bag!

So without further ado, may I present...

Sammi's Bag

Sammi describes herself as a "noobie" and indicates that this was her first bag. Congrats! She made the chain strap version with two flaps, one that matches her corner trim, as well as a black one that matches the strap tabs.

Sammi's assessment of the project? "I love the purse and your pattern really is well explained even to a noobie like me ... first zippers I've ever done in my life and your instructions were great." (First time with zippers - I love the brave ones!)

Pat's Bag

Pat Hansford of Art in Stitches made her test bag with a fabric strap option and went with summer-like shades of lime green... did you notice some of it's even vinyl?? And she also added a fabulous button to the front side as well.

Feedback from Pat: "I had a lot of fun with the pattern and I love the finished product. Love your style in writing the instructions. I definitely would recommend this pattern to others." (Pat also pointed out an error in my pattern that I am thankful someone caught before it went out to the masses!)

Terri's Bag

Terri from Australia — who currently has no online presence (believe it or not) — created the following very elegant version of the Hot Hues bag with a fabric strap. This was her first project following a pattern so we are both happy to report that there were no issues! Yay!

Terri also commented, "The Hot Hues Convertible Crossbody Fooler Bag pattern was an easy pattern to follow, it took a few moments to get my head around not having a central section to the bag, but that's what makes it a 'fooler' bag right? I love the design plus of being able to change out the flaps to match outfits or events or even to coincide with the seasons. It's a cute little bag and would be great for travelling and also for people attending concerts to protect their valuables."

A heartfelt thanks to each of my testers... I can now release the pattern, confident that others will be able to make similarly striking bags of their own. It's a bit surreal to me that a few short months ago, I was only imagining the thought of designing a bag that others would want to make. To see the results and to get the positive feedback is a phenomenal feeling! I am both humbled and over the moon. Thanks again Sammi, Pat and Terri!
